Nashik-based Computer Association of Nashik (CAN) recently conducted its AGM as well as elections and has appointed new office bearers.
The Annual General Meeting was on held on 3rd May. Dhiraj Chhajed, spokesperson of CAN said, "We have taken the landmark decision of changing the format of our association and for the first time in the history of CAN, now we have a president, vice president type of format. It was a collective decision taken along with many other significant decisions taken in the meet."
The election for CAN was conducted on 13th May. The new office bearers include Rajesh Kshatriya of Kshatriya Computers has been appointed as the President, Nitin Gite of Nice Computers will be now the Vice President, Vineet Kankaria of Always Infotech has taken up the role of Secretary, Vinay Chaudhary of Vintech Systems will be the Treasurer and Dhiraj Chhajed of Choice Computers will be the new Spokesperson for the association. In addition, the association has also elected 6 executive director for this fiscal.
The newly elected office bearers are for a term of 2 years. However, 3 executive directors will be elected every year. In addition, the association is in process of renewing membership drives and is now collecting Rs. 5100 Membership fees for the coming five years. Also, the association has decided to charge vendors, OEMS, RDs, and Distributors, Rs. 5100 for conducting channel meets in the city.
Another landmark achievement for the association following this AGM was the drafting of new constitution and by laws of CAN. This has already been prepared and shared. Interesting, the last one was drafted in the year 2000. Chhajed said, "With this new constitution, we have incorporated the necessary changes keeping in mind the current industry requirements and scenarios. It is proud achievement for everybody."
Chhajed said, "The newly appointed 11 people committee has taken up the responsibility of driving channel partner centric initiatives to be conducted in this year. There is lot of enthusiasm and determination and we will be doing a lot of activities for the betterment of IT fraternity of Nashik." Going ahead, the association is planning to roll out various initiatives towards channel engagement and betterment in the current fiscal.
