CAK conducts Blood donation drive

Kolhapur-based Computer association of Kolhapur (CAK) recently conducted a blood donation camp and free health check up camp for its members. This camp was held on 26th June at Swayam school hall in Kolhapur.

Shrenik Bindage, chairman of CAK said, "More than 110 people donated blood at this blood donation drive. All of these were our association members who showed in numbers for this noble cause." He further added, "In addition, we had organized for a health check up for each participant which included ECG, Blood-Sugar, BP, Cholesterol, Hemoglobin, platelets and more. In short a complete health check up. We are very proud to say that each and every individual got cleared in these tests and are 100% healthy. It a great thing to have in these stressful times."

This is the 3rd time the association is organizing this event. Going ahead, the association is planning to conduct this event in a larger scale which will include family members and others from city who are also interested in donating blood said Bindage.

Bindage said, "This was a successful event and would like thank the support of each and every committee members and association members who supported this cause."

In the pipeline, CAK is planning to conduct a tree plantation drive across Kolhapur. Bindage said, "We are going to plant about 150 saplings across Kolhapur. For this initiative, the municipal corporation of Kolhapur has also extended its support and is donating 40 tree guards."

The association intends to plant the saplings in the free spaces available at members house and office premises. Also, the remaining saplings will be planted around the roads in Kolhapur especially in places where the trees had to be moved due to road expansions."
