US based storage software major Computer Associates (CA) also plans to launch a new 'storage without boundary' solution by the year-end which would be working across all platforms. The new solution is expected to contribute to at least 20 percent of CA's revenues in the first year after launch.
As part of this new venture, the company has already made a strategic acquisition of a US-based company Neutron. CA believes that at least 20 to 30 percent of its existing customer base is going to migrate to the new solution.
According to Reyland Villacastin, Consulting Director, CA, this is going to contribute to at least 20 percent of CA's revenues in the first year after launch. He expects the company to capture 20 percent of the overall market share in India.
CA believes that the market is generally moving towards an end-to-end overall performance management solution from a traditional domain management solution.
CA is also putting an extensive thrust on its infrastructure management services in India. It plans to revamp all of systems management, networking, storage, database and security management under one umbrella of infrastructure management.
According to IDC, systems management market is expected to grow by 23 percent in H1 2003, network management market by 21 percent in H1 2003, storage management market by 34 percent in H1 2003 and the security management market is to witness a CAGR of 83 percent in 2003.
