The Advanced Computing Training School (ACTS) of Pune-based Center for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC) would use software tools from Xilinx - a global company offering programmable logic solutions.
Under this initiative, Xilinx, which has its APAC headquarters in Hong Kong, would be offering to C-DAC’s ACTS software for facilitating the VLSI training for its students. The initiative is part of Xilinx’s University Program.
C-DAC’s ACTS association would enable it to effectively introduce to its students the programmable logic design flow for today’s Platform FPGAs with embedded processors and multi-gigabit transceivers. Programmable logic is the fastest growing segment in the semi-conductor industry.
Commenting on the alliance, RK Arora, Executive Directo, C-DAC, said, “We see a greatly increased design activity in the industry using programmable logic. Xilinx’s position as a market leader will help us to provide a platform to higher layers of learning in this sector. This will help provide a better edge to Indian professionals to move into higher echelons of the IT hardware sector.”
According to Xilinx Asia Pacific MD David Loftus the company is pleased to support the training and education of new electronics engineering talent in India through this association with C-DAC. C-DAC’s ACTS is dedicated to creating high quality manpower for the IT industry as well as C-DAC by designing and delivering specialized courses in the different domains of IT. The courses are offered through a network of training centers in India.
