Delhi-based Busy Infotech recently forayed into the Middle East market in a
bid to further its accounting software products. The company is covering the
entire Gulf Co-operation Council (GCC) region including UAE, Oman, Bahrain,
Kuwait and Qatar, and has appointed Al Kays International LLC as the distributor
for the region. Busy designs software to cater to firms demanding application
software around accounting, VAT, inventory, billing and FBT etc. The company has
offices in Delhi, Mumbai and Kolkata and operates through the channel.
Talking about the new foray, Dinesh Gupta, MD, Busy Infotech expounded, “We
have been selling in countries including Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Nepal and Nigeria,
hence Middle East will boost our business further. It is an exciting market and
we have so far shipped about 1,000 units of our accounting software.”
In addition to this the Wazirpur-based company is looking to revamp its
business model wherein the company will be looking to appoint solution partners
who can provide customization around Busy products and thereby fulfill the
requirements of their customers. Configuration around Busy software was
something that the company had left to be handled by its partners wherein they
(partners) earned revenues by extenÂding the same. Another of its business
strategy will include charging a certain amount for every upgrade, something
that the company was offering free of cost till now.
Elaborating on the strategy Gupta said, “This is one area where we thought
that we could earn revenue since till date all the updates and support that we
had been providing were being delivered free of cost.”
Busy is also planning to venture into remote assistance model for its
customers wherein the company is planning to have its own server and will be
renting space on the server to various small companies that want to access data.
“The remote edition initiative from Busy will allow customers to buy space on
our server and access data from anywhere. This software around service (SAS)
model is currently being tried and tested with some of our customers and will be
rolled out very soon,” added Gupta.
Currently, the remote edition of Busy is being used by Perfect Colour Digital
Prints, Bihar Tubes, Thakkar ChemiÂcals, Bajaj Rubber and Swadeshi Bajaj among
others.
