business2media and Press Trust of India (PTI) have entered into a strategic alliance for press release distribution from corporations to the media. The tie-up will bring together PTI's India-wide news distribution network with business2media's own Internet-based distribution and other distribution tie-ups. It will enable any company to simply communicate its news instantly to journalists via the combined network, so fostering greater corporate transparency in India.
According to the agreement, PTI will distribute press releases from business2media's clients on its nationwide satellite news network.
Rajiv Desai, President of leading Indian public relations firm IPAN, initiators of the business2media project, said, "business2media will be the definitive infrastructure in India for corporations to publish their news in real time to the journalist and investor communities. Indian corporations all feel the need to catch up with the real-time information environments of international finance and media; but the only distribution infrastructure they really have is a fax machine - or a PR firm with a fax machine. business2media will enable then to publish their news to all the most significant information networks in India and abroad. The tie-up with PTI is crucial to this vision, and I am very excited to be able to announce it."
MK Razdan, General Manager of Press Trust of India, said, "In keeping with worldwide trends, PTI is going into new areas of business even as it continues to strengthen and widen the scope of its flagship news service. Technology has made it possible to deliver press releases at great speed across the country. With the arrival of the Internet, demand for real-time information has exploded. We are pleased to enter into this tie-up with business2media.
