Acer has announced the launch of its new business desktop, the Acer Veriton
6800, powered by the Intel Pentium D processor. According to the company, armed
with the benefits of Intel's dual-core processing capability, this desktop
comes equipped superior security features, a user-friendly recovery tool and the
Acer eManager and Acer eSettings.
The dual core technology enables users to run multiple demanding applications
simul-taneously. The Intel Pentium D processor also allows users to perform
multiple tasks such as digital rendering and gaming seamlessly while running
background tasks.
The Veriton 6800 is powe-red by an Intel P4 processor with 533/800/1066 MHz
FSB and an Intel Celeron D proce-ssor with 533 MHz FSB. It is equipped with a
system memory, which sup-ports up to 4GB of DDR2 400/533/667 RAM. Also inte-grated
is graphics capability with DVMT 3.0 and a 16X slot.
The desktop is equipped with two external 5.25" drive bays and six
3.5" drive bays (four internal, two external). The Veriton 6800 has two
PS/2 ports, one Ethernet (RJ-45) port, one Serial port, one VGA port, one
parallel port, six audio jacks and eight USB 2.0 ports. Well equipped for I/O
expansion; the Veriton 6800 also has two PCI slots. The Acer Veriton 6800 is
priced at Rs 45,990 and is available through all Acer channel partners.
