British Telecom (BT) has announced a grant of £ 50,000 over three years for a community services project being run by Delhi-based NGO Katha. The project, located in Delhi's Govindpuri locality, would not only focus on ICT education of 125 slum children, but will also support teacher training and link Katha with a school in the UK. The company first joined hands with Katha Information Technology and Entrepreneurship School (KITES) in 2001, with a commitment of £ 1,75,000.
With the additional £ 50,000 fund, the NGO hopes to improve the quality of education in Katha and also train 20 teachers.
