Brother conducts Vadodara raid

Enforcers of Intellectual Property Rights (EIPR ) conducted

raids in Vadodara on September 20, 2011. The agency and police

officials raided a shop in the Jetalpur Road area of the city and

seized Brother's counterfeit toner powders.

The

raid

was executed by a specialized team consisting of EIPR regional

team members and Gotri police officials. The team conducted raid at

Electrodeal/Maxwell Electronics, Office No 419, 4th Floor,

Lalita Tower, Jetalpur Road, Vadodara. Sanjaybhai Himmatbhai

Prajapati, 38, owner of Maxwell Electronics has been arrested under

sections 51, 63 of the Copyright Act.

A

case

with FIR no 139/2011, dated September 20, 2011 has been

registered at Gotri police station, Vadodara. In the raid, the team

seized 1,130 units of Brother's counterfeit toner powder packets each

weighing 100 gm.

This

is

an ongoing effort from Brother India to eradicate counterfeit

activities across the country. This raid was the third seizure

conducted by the company in this quarter.
