href="https://www.dqweek.com/brocade-courts-smbs-through-new-channel-programs">Brocade,

a networking solution

major, has rolled out a new monthly subscription model-Brocade

Network Subscription (BNS). Through this model, customers can avail

networking infrastructure as a pay-per-use model. With this offering

Brocade is confident to reach out to those customers who are shying

away from putting investments in the networking infrastructure.

However, the company claims to be the first one, to roll out a

service model in the networking space. Speaking on the sidelines of

the introduction of BNS, KP Unnikrishnan, marketing director, Asia

Pacific, Brocade, said, “The subscription model would enable

customers to align network investments with actual usage without

paying additional capital expenditure. It is a way to acquire cloud

optimizing network infrastructure on a monthly payment model. With

this, you can buy networking on pay-per-use model with high

flexibility to scale up or down the network utility and agility with

minimal risk.”

To begin with, Brocade is looking at

4 key segments such as managed service providers, government,

cloud/hosting providers and large enterprises, as attractive options

as they faced budget constraints or are looking for more predictable

expense management. Unnikrishnan also said, “We see this new model

to uptake in next 2 months, however in a short time Rackspace has

become one of our global customers. In addition to monthly

subscription model, Brocade will continue to offer networking

solutions on capital purchase and capital lease. Brocade is offering

this hosted model for as low as $10,000 monthly subscription;

however, it is looking at companies with $5,00,000 of investment plan

for networking infrastructure.

Brocade has already invested $100 mn

in the APAC region to popularize the cloud model. In order to educate

the CIOs, the company is organizing a cloud study tour in the coming

month. Parallel to this, it is also investing in educating its

channel partners. The new hosted model will offer additional

opportunities to its partners.
