Encyclopaedia Britannica India has announced the release of its 2003 Ultimate Reference Suite (URS), an expanded multimedia product for information seekers of all ages, from grade school to graduate school and beyond.

The new product, available on CD-ROM and DVD for Windows and Macintosh computers, breaks new ground in Multimedia reference by providing comprehensive information for everyone from elementary school to adulthood in one place.

The product includes three encyclopaedias: The Encyclopædia Britannica and two others for students in the early and middle grades. Each encyclopaedia forms the cornerstone of an integrated 'reference library' that includes a dictionary, thesaurus, atlas and historical timelines appropriate to the age of the user.

"The Ultimate Reference Suite is a complete home reference source that makes finding information easy for everyone-from the young to the old alike. Young students can use it, and then move on to the next level when they're ready, and adults can use it any time. Because it includes the Encyclopædia Britannica, you never outgrow it," said Aalok Wadhwa, MD, Encyclopædia Britannica India, on the release of the 2003
URS.

Contents of URS include: Encyclopædia Britannica, Britannica Student Encyclopedia, Britannica Elementary Encyclopedia, Merriam-Webster Dictionaries and Thesauruses.

Also included are a world atlas, with maps hot linked to encyclopaedia articles, timelines, 21,000 images, rich multimedia and knowledge navigator, Britannica's interactive browser made for creative brainstorming and exploring different topics. Customers also get free quarterly updates and a 90-day free subscription to Britannica's online premium service
(www.britannica.com).

Britannica's Ultimate Reference Suite, developed only in the English language available in stores now, carries a suggested retail price of Rs 2,495.

Other editions in the company's 2003 product line will be released in the months ahead.
