Seema Kakkar New Delhi, Nov 24
Eight fully loaded, brand new HP machines, and eight monitors
were stolen from the Jangpura office of Leading Edge Communication Pvt Ltd this
week. The case has been registered under Section 380 of the IPC.
Informing about the theft, Vikram Gupta, Proprietor, Leading
Edge Communications Pvt Ltd said, "We got to know about the theft only
after we received a call from our employees who usually reach office at around
8.45am. When we reached the office we found empty PC boxes lying around the
room. We immediately called the police who, after investigating the issue,
registered a case."
Thieves make off with eight HP machines and keyboards. Police suspect it could be an insider's work |
Gupta further added that it seems the thieves entered from the
rear gate of the office. The lock to the room toward the rear of the office was
found missing. This indicates that the thieves had entered the office from this
room and then broke the inside locks. "In Jangpura almost every street has
a police check point, so it would have been very difficult for the thieves to
run away with the machines without a vehicle. It looks like the thieves stole
only however much they could accommodate in their vehicle. There were 10
machines stocked in the same room but they took away only eight. Besides that,
they did not proceed to other rooms where some TFT monitors were also
stocked."
When contacted, Harcharan Verma, SHO, Nizamuddin Police Station,
informed that as the lock of the back room was opened with a key, they suspected
that it could be the handywork of an insider. The police are interrogating
insiders as well as people who are in to this kind of crime to get a lead on the
issue.
