BPL Mobile introduces caller ring back tone

BPL Mobile is planning to introduce a service- caller ring back tone (CRBT)
for the first time in the country. According to BP Singh, COO, BPL Mobile
Cellular Ltd, the feature allows the user to preset a ring tone that will be
heard by the caller.

The subs-criber could also assign a special ring tone for spe-cial calls. The
service has been launc-hed in the Mumbai circle and will hit the Maharashtra and
Goa circles by the end of this month.

Singh was speaking to me-dia persons at the launch of four value added
services by BPL Mobile in Pune. "Strate-gically value added services have
always been a focus area to enhance the value proposition to our subscribers.
This will help in increasing our brand edge while contributing additional
revenue from the mobile user," he explained.

The company is also plann-ing a fresh infusion of funds for its network
rollout. Rs 1,600 crore is being invested across the four circles, while one
third of this amount is expected to go towards upgrading the network in
Mahara-shtra and Goa circ-les. There are plans to add 150 new cell si-tes in
exist-ing and new locations in these circles as well. Maharashtra and Goa circle
is expected to touch the 500-cell sites mark by December this year.

BPL also introduced services such as missed call alerts and Voice Response
Service (VRS) for its post paid and prepaid subscribers in these circles.
