Reliance Jio is a threat to Bihar Partners

Launched in September 2016 with a slew of offers and services Reliance Jio, a LTE mobile network operator in India, recently crossed the 100 million subscriber mark.

For local internet service providers, the launch of Reliance Jio Infocomm Ltd.’s services has resulted in a big threat to their business.

In talking to The DQ Week, Sujeet of Dream Net Multiservice Pvt. Ltd. (a local internet service provider in Patna) says, “Since Reliance has launched ‘Jio’ in the market, my business is facing a downfall. By making the scheme free of cost Reliance has attracted the customers all over the country and has raised the bar of the competition for other internet service providers.”

“After Jio launch, Reliance entering internet service provider space has resulted into a business killer for us. We as internet service providers hardly receive any request for repairing or even for any connection now as every single person in the state is enjoying the internet services free of cost or by giving fewer amounts as per the bouquet of services by Reliance,” said Dharamveer Pandey of Team Flame, Channel Patner, Bihar.

Since Mukesh Ambai, Chairman and Managing Director of Reliance Industry has announced heart winning plans for Indian consumers; it seems to be the beginning of another telecom revolution.

Other telecom businesses and other internet service providers just like Bihar local partners see it as a killer of business.

Now what is going to be the impact on customers in the end is much awaited.
