Blueshift Technologies, headquartered in Atlanta with an offshore development center in Chennai, has entered into a strategic alliance with Autotext Europe to bid for library automation projects in Scandinavia, to jointly work on software projects in Europe and to market Blueshift's software powered service- SENATE in Europe.
They have successfully bid for data formating of six different research libraries worth half a million dollars in Denmark. Blueshift, which is focusing on vertical segments such as financial and manufacturing and turnkey assignments in the US, will focus on the same areas in software projects in Europe. "This tie-up will give Blueshift a good entry point to the entire Europe," said Sankaran P Raghunathan, Chairman,
Blueshift.
Autotext, which has companies in Sweden, Denmark, Holland and Spain, focuses on providing media neutral publishing strategy for content owners by serving hardcopy material into any digital format and their distribution through their proprietary system called e-Bookstore-in-a-box.
The revenue sharing between the partners would depend on the competition, the cost incurred and the sensitivity of clients to price. Sankaran Raghunathan said the revenue would be equally shared between the partners proportionate to the efforts they take. For SENATE, he said they would like to cross subsidize the domestic market while following a different pricing pattern for the corporate and academic segments.
Autotext would be marketing SENATE in the Scandinavian countries first. " In Eastern Europe, where the accessibility to the Internet is high, it would be easier to introduce SENATE," said Miska Johansson, CEO, Autotext, Sweden both in India and abroad.
