In its 12th year, the BITA
IT Expo saw prominent visitors like Ajay Bhatt, co-creator of the
USB, Intel and key people from the Computer Society of India. The
product range on display included everything right from desktops and
laptops to high-end Wi-Fi solutions. “The response our stall got
was very good and with over 500 inquiries, we managed to sell between
80-90 desktop PCs and laptops with a total revenue of Rs 25 lakh
generated,” said Jatin Patel of Gayatri Traders.

most
dealers had a single stall set-up, some even had two or more.
“We had two stalls, one for our equipment rentals division and
another for our peripherals division,” said Vijay Lodhia of Sony
Peripherals. “We received around 250-300 inquiries in total and
besides that we were able to establish a brand presence for our
rentals business. We were able to tie-up with certain customers from
a long-term perspective rather than just the short term. All in all,
we had business of about Rs 10 lakh coming in,” continued Lodhia.
Another dealer who saw good business was Arihant Infotech. “We had
a fantastic response in terms of the interest expressed for our
products with around 700 inquiries being made. We were able to make
Rs 5-6 lakh during the expo,” says Dirgesh Shah, CEO, Arihant
Infotech.
