Billjunction.com launched in Chennai

Billjunction Payments, a network company between ICICI Venture and a Rediff.com with a 5 percent stake, has launched its bill presentment, bill payment and bill archiving at www.billjunction.com in Chennai. It has tied up with billers in Chennai such as Chennai Telecom, RPG Cellular, Life Insurance Corporation, Satyam Infoway, ICICI Bank Credit Cards and Mobilink. 

"Billjunction.com is a bill payment solution for the entire bill payment community where in they don't have to be members of specific banks to make the payments," said Bikramjit Sen, COO Bill Junction Payments. It uses RBI's Electronic Clearing Service-Debit, which helps Billjunction bring together various banks and utility service providers.

Billjunction Payments has sites operating in six other cities such as Mumbai, Delhi, Kolkata, Pune, Hyderabad and Bangalore other than Chennai and has tied up with about 55 billers nationally.

"We are planning to expand and cater to the corporate segment and SMEs who have large numbers of bill payments. We got a tremendous response from the billers here and expect to tie up with other service providers in the near future," he added.

Billjunction.com, which would present and archive the electronic bill, comes with features such as auto pay, conditional auto pay and email notifications on bill arrivals and due dates of the bill. It uses PayAway Software from Infosys and the site is verified by Verisign and uses a 128-bit encryption code that provides high level of security.
