Bihar to have CoE facility

In an endeavor to take Bihar to a new high in the field of IT, and popularize

the concept of women and youth empowerment in this regard, Patna-based Astric

Computers has undertaken a joint initiative together with the Bihar State IT

Ministry and Bihar State Electronics Development Corporation (BELTRON),

supported by Tally India to create a Center of Excellence (CoE) in the state.

“In order to achieve IT sector reforms and foster capacity building for

permeation of IT across Bihar, we have created a CoE spread across 5,000sq ft.

Rendering the youth of our state IT-enabled will push the employment rates and

help bring them in the mainstream,” said PK Sinha, MD, Astric Computers.

The CoE will be inaugurated on Aug 4 by Sushil Kumar Modi, Deputy Chief

Minister, Bihar with the Chief Guest being Dr Anil Kumar, IT Minister, Bihar.

The inauguration will be followed by the launch of e-learning modules,

personality development program and the unveiling of women empowerment program.

A batch of 50 Patel Mahila Chatrawas, Khajpura girls have been selected for the

inaugural session in the quest for women empowerment in the state.

“In the CoE, we will be offering various Microsoft e-learning certified

professional courses apart from free training and employable courses for the BPL

category. Also, we will be offering career counseling, management training and

professional skill trainings courses. The CoE will be a Microsoft virtual

classroom as well as remote training facility for employable youth. It will also

have a resource facility center meant for tele- and video-conferencing, seminars

and workshops,” Sinha added.

Signaling a serious note to make the CoE of prominent stature, council

members for the CoE have already been appointed. The list includes Prof G

Parameswarappa, Ex-Chairman-South-Western Regional Committee, All India Council

of Technical Education; SN Mishra, Former DG, Bihar Police and AM Prasad, Former

Special Secretary-Department of Revenue, Govt of India.

“Our aim is to enhance employment and entrepreneurship besides youth and

women empowerment. With our mission to bridge the distance through IT, we have a

vision to promote synergy of technology transfer and capacity building across

state,” he added, while discussing the mission and vision statement of CoE.

In its call for working out women empowerment programs, the CoE will be

headed by women entrepreneurs acting as key technology partner in the state.

Also, amalgamation of various personality development programs amidst the

interface of latest technology and services will be a specialty of the CoE.
