Bhubaneshwar, 20 February-When an OEM scraps its existing business and starts afresh, it means that trends are changing and the OEM is aiming to tap the new waves based on consumer demands. Sify which on first thought is related with public internet providers through cybercafés has now ventured into datacenter (DC) collocation services along within a host of cloud based solution offerings. To penetrate the Tier 2 markets, Sify has been aggressively marketing or rather popularizing its services through DQWeek’s Tech Caravan –an event targeted to bring vendors face to face with channel partners and solution providers of Tier 2 cities where the OEM gets to make a presentation of his product Offerings to seek partners interested in forging a deal. On 20th February, Sify along with team DQWeek reached the city of Bhubaneshwar to conduct the event at Hotel Empires. Indrajit Mukhopadhay, Regional Sales Manger-East, Sify spoke at length about Sify’s Could and managed services, Application services, Tech Integration services and Datacentre services. Mukhopadhay stressed on the benefits of shared datacenter services which is not only cost effective for a business organization but is also a flexible model-that is, businesses can upgrade or downgrade the services and size accordingly and pay per usage. This saves investment on physical servers, maintenance cost and much of unused space. Even partners get commercial benefits in terms of recurring payment model which simply means that partners receive a percentage of the share on every quarter when the business using the datacenter makes quaterly payment to Sify.
Along with Sify, structured cabling market leader, R& M also joined hands as an associate sponsor with its high performance cabling solutions. R & M was incepted in 1964 and is currently present in 36 countries globally. What was interesting to note in Pankaj Bharadwaj’s presentation is that he pinpointed on the necessity of cabling infrastructure in datacenter, thereby making the partners realize the need of the hour for both datacenter business and its complementary cabling solutions. Bharadwaj is Regional Head for North ad East, R&M. He was accompanied by a local contact Bikash Mundhra who handles Business Development for East and Bangladesh for R& M.
Apart from these two OEMs, NNR’s Ananth Patnaik, Sales Manager, NNR IT Solutions L.L.P. presented on Max Secure Anti Virus with its comprehensive security and privacy solutions. The Anti Virus pack comes in 3, 5 and 10 user packs. The partners are provided with sales support with active presence in 40 cities across India along with offline modes of additional help when required. With its channel friendly schemes, the OEM made all the right noises during the ongoing event.
