BHEL launches B2B website

"Internet technology with the availability of higher bandwidths for communication has opened new vistas of business transaction.

Unequivocally, it has necessitated the proper utilization of net technology to transact the business like exchange of products, services and information amongst the business partners", said SN Roy, Executive Director, BHEL, Bhopal, while inaugurating a business to business (B2B) website.

This B2B link with the BHEL's sub-suppliers shall result in following benefits for both the parties involved: Online and real time information, transparency, saving on cost and time, environment friendly as it will reduce paper/energy usage drastically, reduction in purchase cycle time, better, utilization of manpower, etc.

Roy exhorted sub-vendors to use this site to the maximum as it is in their own interest and will speed up the communication between BHEL and them. Through this website, the sub-suppliers can find out the status of the purchase enquiries, purchase order details, bill passing and payment details.

K Suresh, Commissioner Industries, MP Government, while appreciating the efforts of BHEL Bhopal in propagating information technology in Madhya Pradesh said IT could be the answer to the many ills of the society like corruption and should bring transparency in public dealing departments. The function was also graced by AK Srivastava, Chairman, MPSIDC; Shikha Dubey, Director- Industries, MP Government. On this occasion General Managers of BHEL Bhopal, representatives of Industries and many sub-vendors were also present.

D Sen, Additional General Manager (IFX), T Dayala Murthy, Senior Manager (Material Management), Mukesh Arora, Senior Manager (IFX) made presentation and demonstrations about using the website for information sharing. RC Dubey, Deputy General Manager (IFX) compared the program.
