After launching its wireless home phone ser-vice 'Airtel Mega' - New
Delhi-based telecom service provider — Bharti is all set to increase its focus
towards channel partners in order to push its product in the Indian market.
As a part of this initia-tive, the company is right now in the process of
iden-tifying more than 600 fixed business associates (FBA) across the country,
to push its product in the market.
“As this is a different product with lots of attrac-tive features. We have
decided to go for creating a special channel for this product. At present, we
have already started work-ing with close to 250 FBAs and the rest would be
iden-tified very soon. We are looking at having over 600 FBAs. In this case we
are typically looking at diffe-rent geography-based peo-ple having outbound
sales experience,” infor-med, Vishal Sehgal, VP - Fixed Wireless Business,
Bharti Airtel.
In a bid to target the market in a different way, Bharti is planning to use
service towards building a USP for this product in the market. “We will be
using service in order to create a USP for this product in the market. This
product co-mes with the additional benefit of a unique after-sales service
model. We are also looking at having direct sales force going to homes. This
would cer-tainly help us in terms of building our brand and selling the product
in the market,” he added.
Airtel Mega operates on GSM network and is avail-able in postpaid and
pre-paid plans. The company is planning to roll this prod-uct in close to 4,000
towns and villages across India.
