The compound revenue of BenQ has reached NT$16 billion with slight decline of
1.8 percent. BenQ pointed out that the drop in revenue was due to the loss in
the DVD-Rom business. According to BenQ, the revenue of August grew 79 percent
over last year. The revenue reached NT$10 billion in August with growth of nine
percent over last year but with a decline of 7.4 percent over July. Except for
DVD-Rom business, the revenue of LCD display stayed the same as July's.
Moreover the market share of LCD display in China has become second biggest. The
sales volume also set a high record in August. After selling the DVD-Rom
business Lite-on IT Corp, the entire revenue remained the same as Q2. In terms
of product lines, LCD display shipment is expected to stay stable, and average
selling price of mobile phone shipment is expected to increase slightly. With
the upcoming peak season of consumer electronics, LCD display, projector, and
mobile phone will contribute significant revenue starting from September.
