BenQ recently concluded a 15 city road show titled 'Enjoyment Tour'. The
road show aimed to strengthen the company's reach and hold in India. The first
chapter of the show began in Pune on August 22 and ended at Bhubaneshwar on
September 14, 2005.
In east, the road show was hosted at Kolkata on September 13 and in
Bhubaneshwar the following day.
KY Lee, CEO, BenQ and Adrian Chang, President—Asia Pacific, BenQ were among
others present at the road shows. For the Kolkata chapter, Ashish Bakshi,
Country Manager, BenQ and Peter Chen, Senior Vice President and General Manager
— Digital Media Business Group, BenQ were present. "After China, India is
the second biggest market for BenQ," said Chen. According to Bakshi the
Eastern Indian market accounts for 12 to 15 percent of BenQ India's revenue.
"Mobile phones and LCD monitors do particularly well here," he said.
He farther remarked that globally, the group did business worth $10.8 billion
last year and targets a revenue figure worth $13 billion by the end of 2005.
At the events BenQ took the opportunity to display its entire range of
hi-tech and hi-touch digital products. The company
has also launched its latest senseye technology LCD monitors and DLP projectors.
