Jammu-based BBC Computers has charged AFL Ltd of cheating. Jammu-based AFL is
a transport shipment company for eSys Information Technologies, which is the
national distributor of Lenovo. BBC Computers is a partner of Lenovo.

According to Yogesh Badyal, Proprietor, BBC Computers, his company had placed
an order with eSys to dispatch two 7757Q laptops on May 23, 2008. AFL dispatched
the order on the same day through their delivery boy. When Badyal opened the
sealed carton he found two laptop boxes inside but one laptop, its accessories,
charger, CDs etc were missing.

“The external and internal cartons are with us. On examining the main carton
we found that it had been tampered with from the rear side,” said Badyal. On
being asked if he suspected anyone is this case, Badyal informed, “I suspect the
AFL delivery boy, as there is have no fixed person for deliveries. As the
products come from Delhi and Mumbai, it must have been tampered with there.”

have circulated the laptop serial number to all the leading newspapers and have
asked Lenovo officials to keep their eyes and ears open incase anyone comes with
a laptop with the serial number 7757-57Q (MA-8A1NL) as it is in warranty
period.” He added that JCDA has threatened eSys to resolve the matter or they
would stop any kind of purchase from eSys.
