Bathina Technologies to enter ASP market

Bathina Technologies India Ltd (BTIL) of Hyderabad is planning to foray into the ASP segment. "We are planning to conceptualize and develop customized solutions for governments, specific industries, stock brokers and medical professionals. The solutions would be made available on the ASP model," said V Rao Bathina, CEO, Bathina Technologies.

BTIL had recently acquired Octal Systems, a Hyderabad based GIS solutions company, in an all-stock deal. "The acquisition would help us establish ourselves in the ASP space. To start with, we will focus on providing medical services," saidBathina.

The company has signed a MoU with Emnet (Emergency Networks) for jointly executing projects and to set up a major vehicle tracking system with GPS, GIS and satellite and wireless communication technologies. Emnet is promoted by Sam Pitroda and M N Chiani, President, Reliance Industries.

Bathina Technologies is also planning on setting up bathina-online.com, an Internet Service Provider (ISP) infrastructure, which would actively provide solutions and services for e-commerce, online banking, Internet/intranet applications, Virtual Private Networks (VPN), computer and network security etc. The company, which did revenues of Rs 3.25 crore last year, expects to generate around Rs 12-13 crore by the end of March 2001.
