New Update starts ‘Dabbawala Entrepreneurship Programme’ has announced a strategic marketing move in collaboration with Mumbai Dabbawala Association for Detel, the world’s most economical feature phone brand. The programme aims at turning Mumbai Dabbawalas - who deliver home-cooked food to around 2 lakh Mumbaikars every day into Entrepreneurs selling Mobile handsets & Power banks.


With this exclusive Entrepreneurship Programme, the brand targets one of the most influential communities of India, the Mumbai Dabbawalas, to propel the idea of ‘Stay connected India’ in order to propel the brand in the region. Dabbawalas, who are highly connected across the city, and being the strongest influencers in Mumbai, have been chosen to market the products in the city. takes its first influencer-marketing initiative for ‘Detel’, with other leading brands like Samsung, Harman, Xiaomi, & TCL, listed on its website. To begin with, the e-distribution platform has started a community-based entrepreneurship programme where it will provide training and certification to the Dabbawalas in Mumbai, enabling them to sell Detel’s Mobiles and Accessories and run their own businesses with an investment of just Rs. 5,000. The Mobiles & Accessories range of Detel is within the price segment of Rs. 399 to Rs. 1,099.

Initially, will provide On the Job Training related to sales and service of all the products of Detel. After training, the certification would be given to the Dabbawalas to become authorized Detel Sales Associates.


Only the Dabbawalas certified by would be considered as entrepreneurs under this programme. To integrate & manage these certified entrepreneurs, has launched its official Android & iOS Application where they can easily place orders for the desired quantity of products.
