Avon readies messaging platform

In Its bid to establish itself as a major player in the communications space, Avon Technologies, a Hyderabad based advanced Technologies Company has developed a unified messaging platform for integrating different modes of communication. "The platform developed by us makes communication device independent by connecting any source of communication to any access point," said, Ashok Nandi, Director (Operations), Avon Technologies.

This apart, the company has also developed certain applications targeting the service providers and the enterprises. "We have already built a text-to-speech engine, which reads out the message received either through an email or fax. With the help of this, the mails and fax messages can be accessed through any device including mobiles, PDAs and PSTN telephones," he informed.

The company is engaged in talks with some cellular operators and basic telephony providers for integrating the platform into their networks to offer value added services to their respective customers. "We believe that an introduction of a service like this would definitely increase the customer base and would also attract more customers for a service provider," Nandi added.

Currently the company is eyeing the service provider segment but in due course of time it would also focus on the potential in enterprise arena. "We are going to target the service provider segment first. For enterprise, we would offer sales and supply chain management modules into the main platform. We are also trying to concentrate on call center solutions area," explained
Nandi.

Avon has tied up with a UK based company Magnetic North for marketing the call center based solutions in that region. Avon Technologies (India) has been involved in offering products and consulting services based on leading edge technologies.
