Avaya Global Connect reÂcenÂtly anÂnoÂÂuÂnced a straÂteÂgic alliance
with CyberÂoam, a leading unified threat management (UTM) appliance provider,
for the distribution of its Identity-Based UTM appliances in India. Cyberoam UTM
appliances are unique with a complete user Identity-Based approach which
recognizes the need to bind user identity to security for complete protection
against emerging threats.
The alliance brings a one-stop solution to SME customers, providing both IP
telephony and security solutions at a single point, reducing their dependency on
multiple solution providers. Under the terms of the agreement, Avaya GloÂbalConnect's
nationÂwide sales and distribution network will expand Cyberoam's reach
beyond the metros into the interiors - B and C cities - in addition to providing
full-fledged service and support througÂh its regional offices.
“We recognize CyberÂoam's strong presence in the high-growth SME segÂment
with its UTM appliaÂnces,” said Niru Mehta, MD and Vice-Chairman, Avaya
GlobalConnect. “At the same time, we are expanding the security segment of our
business. Cyberoam is the ideal partner for us with their experience in this
field and their unique security appÂliaÂnce. This will support our expansion
into the SME segment in India, after our foray into this market with the launch
of IP Office earlier this year,” he added.
While Cyberoam's strenÂgth lies in its unique identity-based UTMs that
bind user identity to security instead of relying on complex IP pools, Avaya
GlobalConnect's strength lies in its strategy of offering complete soluÂtions
that address the total data, voice, video and secuÂrity needs of customers.
“A strategic, value-added partner like Avaya GlobalÂConnect who is focused
on solution deliÂvery beyond plain product-sale brings much needed support to
SME customers. This will play a critical role in acquiring major share of the
Indian security market,” said Hemal Patel, MD and CEO, Elitecore TechnoÂlogies,
vendor of Cyberoam. “We aim to capture a leaÂding share of the estimated $63
million Indian security market in 2006-07.”
