is all set to introduce the
limited edition of its Ares Graphics card in the Indian market. The
product was recently showcased during the Computech event in Taiwan.
According to the company's statement,
the new card is equipped with dual Radeon HD 5870 GPU and 4GB of
GDDR5 memory, and is 32 percent faster than generic Radeon HD 5970.
Speaking to The DQ Week, Vinay
Shetty, Country Head — Components Business, Asus India said, “The
company would be announcing the launch of Asus Ares Graphics card in
a week and this is the first time, that such a high-end offering in
VGA will be offered in India.”
According to Shetty, the new product
deploys the powerful Radeon HD 5870 running at 850MHz, which
optimizes their joint performance. "Since it is a premium
product with only 1,000 units available worldwide, we will be taking
back-to-back orders from the end of July. It is a special limited
edition VGA and is priced at Rs One lakh. It is truly a premium price
but every product has its own buyers and we have kept that segment in
our mind,” added Shetty. The Asus Ares will be available through
its distributors in India.
