ASUS recently concluded multi-city partner meets to promote its desktop range of products last week. The company introduced its lineup of branded desktops in March this year focusing on the mid and high end segment in India. A total of 13 cities were covered in two phases in June, and August this year. The first phase was conducted in association with Intel between June 15 to 27, and covered the cities of Pune, Delhi, Chennai, Bangalore, Indore, Lucknow, Navi Mumbai, Thane and Ahmedabad. The second phase was held in association with Microsoft from August 14 to 24, and covered Surat, Mangalore, Bhubaneshwar and Siliguri. In all, over 700 partners attended the meets and most were impressed with the new range of ASUS desktops.
"These meets were held to create awareness about our new desktop range amongst the IT channel in India. Branded desktop market has not seen much action in the mid or performance segment and is so far primarily been a price driven market catering to low end buyers. Our aim is to educate partners about our concept of value based selling and urging them to cater to the needs of the niche audiences within their markets. We will build on this momentum and have more activities planned for successful channel penetration in this segment," said Vinay Shetty, country head, component business, ASUS (India).
ASUS also announced the launch of its upcoming model CM6431 (PDC) during these meets.
The company will begin the third phase of its desktop partner meets in India and will be heading to Midnapore, Bardhaman, Kochi, Thiruvananthapuram and Coimbatore in September. The forth and the final phase will conclude in Q4, the cities for which are yet to be decided.
