iBook, the first Apple notebook with build-in Intel
processor, will be available in the market from the second quarter. The first
iBook will use 13.3-inch special panel and the estimated production output will
be 1.2 millions units which will account for 50 percent of total production of
Apple notebook. According to the latest news, this new Apple notebook OEM order
will be taken by Asus. For the orders of TFT panels, it would be shared by AU
Optronics, Chi-Mei and LPL. Currently the yearly order of iBook is very
stable. If the first 13.3-inch iBook with build-in Intel processor gets a good
feedback from the market, Asus will greatly benefit. Apple will release
13.3-inch wide screen to replace the existing 12.1- and 14-inch NB, the new
products will be available in the market.
