Akshar.

He said that IT should per-colate down to the masses to realize its real strength. Digital divide can be bridged by educa-tion and he felt that training institutes such as Aptech could bring a sea change in the IT education scenario.

On the CSI’s involvement Dr JR Arora, Secretary, CSI, said that this is an initiative started by the two best of the breed companies. “With e-governa-nce and global competition setting in, computer knowle-dge might just become a basic necessity and the earlier we are able to bridge this gap the better it will be for India,” he added.

Sudhir Mathur, Sr VP (Global Marketing), Apetch, said, “India Akshar is dedicated to all the people in India, especially in the smaller cities, which are yet to know the significance of IT in the lives.”

Talking about the business model, Mathur said that this is not a profitable exercise and this mission is only a social responsibility that Aptech is undertaking.
