Aptech joins hands with GJU

Aptech Computer Education, division of Aptech Ltd, has

announced a strategic alliance with Guru Jambeshwar University (GJU), Hissar to

jointly offer IT Education programs through Aptech Centers. This would include

four programs, including the Bachelor of computer applications (BCA), Post

Graduate diploma in E-commerce Technologies, Advanced Diploma in Java

Programming and Certificate in Computers. The press conference also marked by

the signing of the agreement between Aptech and GJU.

The curriculum is developed by both Aptech and GJU and

includes some non-IT topics also. The teaching would be done in Aptech centers

and the university would do the checking of examination papers. Aptech would

recruit the teachers, which would be scrutinized by GJU. The university would

also do the sifting of the candidates.

All the courses have different duration but the course

fee is Rs 15,000 per year. The alliance between Aptech and GJU is on a revenue

sharing basis with 50 percent of the fee share and the whole of the examination

fee going to GJU.

Citing a survey done by A C Nielsen in 11 cities for

Aptech, Kishan Gohil, Senior VP and Divisional Head, Aptech said, "Around

35 percent of the people surveyed wanted to do a course having a duration of one

year. Now in alliance with the university we are offering short as well as

long-term courses after completion of which students will get a degree from GJU."

R K Chauhan, Vice Chancellor, GJU said that the

objective of the university is to make available IT education to distant places

and reach the unreachable masses. The expertise of Aptech in IT and that of the

university in non-IT teaching would prove to be a perfect blend.
