APC launches two new UPS systems

To provide cost effective, reliable power protection and management solutions to the SME sector, American Power Conversion (APC) has launched two new UPS systems of 1000 and 1500 Tower units named 'Smart UPS'. Priced at Rs 24,150 and Rs 28,035 respectively, these products are available through APC distributors, system integrators and resellers across the country.

Smart UPS 1000 and 1500 systems has the PowerChute plus UPS management software, which performs automatic unattended system shutdown as well as important power management and diagnostic features. PowerChute plus also gives network administrators' flexibility in configuring specific UPS reactions to power problems. For each possible power problem the user has the option to choose up to seven items from a list of possible UPS actions such as log event, notify users and safe shutdown of the server.

Anand Iyer, Country General Manager, APC said, "As business criticality of data continues to increase, it is very important to ensure that business is protected by Server class UPS systems. This is critical since an APC study has revealed that the value of data residing in a server actually exceeds the value of the server in three months or less." he added.

These new UPS systems can tolerate a voltage range from 151 VAC to 302 VAC without going on to battery mode. Also in case of power problem like a power cut the network manager can receive alerts from the UPS via audio beeps, visual signals, web, serial, USB and SNMP alerts, ensuring complete information about the availability of the UPS and its manageability.
