In a recently held partner meet, Taiwan-based TPV Technology Ltd launched its
new product range, including a 193FW 19" wide screen LCD monitor, under its
brand AOC in Kolkata. With the launch of this model AOC currently has a complete
range of LCD monitors to offer to the Indian market including 15",
17", 19" and 20". Disclosing the product details, Saurabh Grover,
Marketing Head - India, TPV Technology Ltd said, "A perfect blend of
slender, style and sophistication, AOC LCD screen monitor is an ideal tool for
professionals, corporate houses as well as for the home PC users who desire
something that is larger than life."
At present the company has 10 models of computer monitors in
the Indian market and it intend to launch five new models by mid of this fiscal.
"With world-wide proven technology, the AOC monitors give an urbane look to
the office and home. It has amazing picture quality and also facilitates
enhanced viewing experience," said Grover.
The monitors in this series are equipped with features like
internal speakers, VGA input, an in-built power supply, and have auto
adjustments such as brightness, contrast and color to sooth the eyes. Commenting
on its India operations Grover stated further, "Having begun its operations
in India in 2001 as an OEM supplier, AOC today is the largest supplier of
computer monitors in India".
In India the home PCs market has already crossed the mark of
4.5 million, out of which 2.7 million in OEM market constitutes of main computer
manufacturers, including HCL, HP, and IBM. AOC-India already has more than 50
percent share of this market and is now targeting the remaining 1.8 million
channel market. Within the next two years, AOC plans to garner 30 percent of the
overall Indian monitor market (OEM/ODM and retail) share. Last year AOC sold
1.20 million monitors in India, and targets to sell
1.5 million monitors in the current fiscal.
The half yearly meet also gave an opportunity to partners to
get involved in an interactive session with representatives from the company as
well as distributors.
AOC has also started its Bihar operations from this month
onwards. "We are quite upbeat with the response we are receiving after we
launched our operations last month in Assam and upcountry Northeast. And we are
quite hopeful for Bihar market too," affirmed Grover. The company is also
planning to be more aggressive in its forthcoming promotional activities.
"We are planning to be more visible on the retail front and reach out to
the end customers in the coming months," he added further.
