Mumbai-based Antarix Tech Zone has recently launched Mouse FP, a mouse with fingerprint identification facility. The company also has a stand-alone fingerprint identification device called the Hamster, which has an USB port and can be attached to any computing device to block access to folders and files.
Antarix is now seeking resellers to sell these products to niche customer segments. Both products are targeted at banking and financial institutions as well as corporates. Mouse FP is priced at Rs 13,000, while the Hamster is available at Rs 9,000.
Partners can earn margins of up to eight percent each for both devices. "We want partners who are already catering to these customer segments to bundle our product with their entire networking package," says Girish Thakkar, Proprietor of Antarix Tech Zone. The products carry a one-year warranty with replacement by refurbished units. The company hopes to sell 5,000 units in the AMJ quarter.
But is the market ready for such security devices? Yes, affirms Girish. "In the segments we are targeting, security is a core issue. And we have an R&D department which will devise the entire fingerprint identification solution to suit to needs of the customer," says
Girish.
