Andhra invites Dell to Hyderabad

Pradesh CM YS Rajasekhar Reddy has urged Dell Inc to consider Hyderabad as a
venue to set up its proposed manufacturing unit in India.

While delivering the
inaugural address at the Dell's new facility here on Sunday, Dr Reddy said,
“Hyderabad is the most sought after place in India. We have the best of talent
available here in Hyderabad.''

Dr Reddy explaining about his
government's initiatives and plans to Kevin B Rollins, President and Chief
Executive Officer of Dell, who was also present at the function. The CM also
assured Rollins, ``to provide (Dell) the best of infrastructure in the city.”

Reddy also urged Dell to look
at tier two cities. ``I would also urge Dell to look out for second strings
cities in the state. Visakhapatnam is a city, which can also be under your
operations,'' the chief minister said. Apart from expediting its India
operations, Dell Computers is also planning to set up a manufacturing unit in
the country. Union Commerce and Industry minister Kamal Nath had disclosed this
in Davos on Saturday.

Earlier, Dell had opened its new customer contact centre
operations and a global deve­lopment centre in Hydera­bad. “The opening of
the faci­lity is not just for expan­sion it is also our strategic move,''
said Rollins. The Hyderabad customer care centre offers businesses in sales,
cus-tomer care, techni­cal supp-ort, e-mail support and global financing
services.
