Amrutanjan Infotech, the IT arm of healthcare major Amrutanjan, is opening a 30-seat international call center in Chennai soon, thereby aggressively forging ahead in the IT business. With infrastructure, knowledge capital, business orders and other required logistics well in place, the company expects to go online in the next couple of days. Chennai-based Enhancement Technologies, a total turnkey solution provider for establishing and running customer contact centers, has assisted Amrutanjan Infotech in the entire cycle of business process. "We have just invested in the business and Enhancement takes care of everything from training the agents up to bringing in the business," said S Radhakrishna, CMD, Amrutanjan Limited. The company has invested Rs 2.25 crore in the project.
Amrutanjan Infotech aims at providing multilingual service for the overseas market in call center business and according to Radhakrishna, "If everything goes as per plan, soon we will expand the facility by another 30-seat with an investment to the tune of Rs 70 lakh."
The company is about to launch a special training program for grooming call center agents and again this would be done in association with Enhancement Technologies. "We are also talking to a leading technical varsity to establish a call center training facility in their campus. There will be a three-way association with the university providing the space, we investing on the infrastructure and Enhancement Technologies providing course material and training support," said S Muralidharan, Director, Amrutanjan Infotech.
Amrutanjan Infotech, which began operations in 1998, had remained a low-profile company in the IT business till date and its revenue contribution to the group was meager. "But, now, we are very serious about IT and are sincerely lobbying to expand the business opportunities here," said
Radhakrishna.
The IT training business, which provided a main entry for the company into this field, has also expanded by new programs. The company plans to open centers down south at a later stage. This year, the company has got into developing software solutions also..
"With a major thrust given to IT, we are projecting a revenue of Rs 3 crore to 3.5 crore from this division in the current fiscal," he added.
