Amit Mehta quits Avaya, to join Microsoft

Amit Mehta, Director-Marketing of Avaya GlobalConnect has quit and will be
joining Microsoft to head their UC business. Mehta will be joining Microsoft
from July 15 and will be taking

on the role of Director-Unified Communications.

Commenting on his decision, Mehta stated, "I was getting better opportunities
at Microsoft and the company in itself has a huge brand image. There are a lot
of things to be achieved at Microsoft and the unified com-munication business
has a lot of exciting opportunities to offer. I am excited about my new role at
Microsoft."

Mehta was responsible for the entire marketing function of Avaya
GlobalConnect. This included introduction of new solutions and marketing of
existing solutions encom-passing a gamut of intelligent communica-tions, which
included customer contact, unified communica-tion, IP telephony and
communication-enabled business processes convergence and customer service area
solutions.

Mehta holds a Bachelor of Electronics degree from RKNEC, Nagpur University.
He has done his MBA from Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi Institute of
Management, New Delhi in 2001 with specialization in marketing.
