AMD Sempron chip in India

Targeting the 'everyday computing segment', AMD has launched Sempron
processor family in India.

"The day-to-day computing needs of home and business users have evolved
from basic email, web browsing and word processing to downloading music, photo
editing and shar-ing, movie viewing and advan-ced office productivity. It is
keeping this kind of evolution that we are introducing AMD Sempron for notebook
and desktop computer users," explained AMD Far East Ltd (India) Country
Manager Sanjeev Keskar.

"In India we are working closely with LG and HCL Infosys-tems to offer
Sempron based systems," Keskar informed.
