After going through a lack-luster year last fiscal, the Ambala Computer Dealer Association(ACDA) is planning to conduct an summer IT expo in the month of May/June, this year. The association wants to capitalize on the commencement of engineering admissions and result of CBSE exam during the expo.
Rajesh Tayal, spokesperson, ACDA said, "This year, inflation and delay in DGS&D has completely shattered our expectations. Sales have gone down drastically. Therefore our association is planning to organize an IT expo. The objective of this expo is to generate more revenue from the student community and end-customers. Having said that, we are yet to confirm the date and venue of the expo."
With this initiative, the association aims to increase IT trade in the city wherein the partners will get a better platform to showcase their products. "For this summer expo, we will start our promotion at the engineering college and school. In Ambala, we have 20 engineering colleges in and around the city. Moreover, this is the best time for students to buy laptops and desktops. We want to capture the first year students who are looking for new laptops and tablets," said Tayal.
According to the association, it will be a 2-3 day event. When asked about the theme for this summer expo, Tayal said, "This summer, we would be focusing on the frequently changing IT trends, technologies, customer preferences and choices with its impact on IT partners. But, as of now, we have not zeroed down on any particular theme."
