Ambala Computer Dealer
Association (ACDA) has imposed a ban on the href="https://www.dqweek.com/sunil-dutt-quits-hp">HP
consumer range.
Members of the Ambala association as well as non members have decided
to boycott the brand and have been directed to stop the sales and
purchase of HP products until the vendor resolves the demand of the
partners.

The decision came in the
wake of the growing number of consumer court cases against HP and its
dealers. ACDA is boycotting HP on the ground, that it has appointed
telecom partners to distribute its consumer PCs. Also, partners are
not willing to accept the new changes that are being brought to HP
world retail shops, as they think they are not channel-friendly.

Commenting on the issue,
Rajesh Tayal, spokesperson, ACDA said, “Our association has
completely boycotted the HP consumer range of desktop and laptops in
Ambala since the last 2 months. Today, each dealer of HP has been
languished with consumer court case, due to poor service support by
HP in the city, since we have billed the customers. So, partners are
unnecessarily being dragged into all this mess.”

While Sharing his agony,
Tayal said, “I have received more than 3 consumer court case
notice. Instead of supporting the partners in this wee hours, the
company is not responding to our issues. Moreover, in one of the case
hearings, HP refused to acknowledge my company(Computer touch) as its
authorized dealer. Hence, we criticize such an unfriendly stand of
the company.”

“However, the situation
in our neighboring state Punjab is much more stable. Now, we have
decided to push more Dell and Acer range of products. The overall HP
market has been hit in Ambala in the last 2-3 months,” said Tayal.

The dealer has been
selling all range of HP products in Ambala for the last 10 years, and
was one of the major retailers for HP products.
