Alok Ohrie to join Dell India, replaces Sameer Garde

Alok Ohrie will join Dell India as its new MD and President replacing Sameer Garde, industry sources revealed.

Ohrie was earleir with IBM as VP, Systems and Technology Group, IBM India and Saarc.

There are some media speculations that Sameer will be joining Microsoft India after leaving Dell, however, when contact by Dataquest, he denied.

Ohrie, a former Wipro executive, joined IBM in 1995. He left IBM and joined AMD India in 2005 as Managing Director. Three years later he joined EMC India as President, but returned to IBM in 2010 to head STG business.

Garde, a former Pepsi, Nestle and Whirlpool executive, has been with Dell since 2004. Incidentally, Rajan Anandan, former President, Dell India, also joined Microsoft India as Managing Director, after quitting Dell.
