Signaling a move to incorporate industry veterans in the space and facilitate
'new faces' to take the lead, Alok Garodia, Director of Jupiter International
has been selected as the new President of Compass. Besides, an Interim Committee
has also been appointed. “Like the previous year, this year too, the election of
the President went uncontested. We had decided on electing Garodia as the new
President and the election went unchallenged,” said Pawan Jajodia, Immediate
Past President, Compass.

Citing an overwhelming response in selecting Garodia as the new President,
Jajodia added, “I am happy with my tenure and I think I have done all that was
needed. Now, we look forward to the new President for guidance and hope that he
will take the association to a new high.” Previously, Garodia has held important
portfolios like VP and Treasurer in the association.
Citing the need for preparing a new batch to take the lead, KL Lalani,
Director, Lalani Infotech said, “Garodia is well experienced with the working of
the association and we think that he will be able to play his part well. It has
always been our primary concern to give new faces a go ahead in Compass and now,
we have implemented what we had held as a priority.”
Sources in Compass suggested that so long, the association was not confident
with the emerging faces and hence, 'new' candidates for the electoral post were
not considered. However, the association has now pinned their hopes on Garodia
and is expecting the new President to take on the responsibility.
“The Interim Committee is a perfect blend of expertise and emerging faces. It
includes veterans like Rajesh Saboo of Saboo Computers, JK Baid of Eastern IT
Group, PL Suhasaria of Caltron and other notable people. Besides them, 'new'
faces have been given a chance in the committee,” Lalani added.
