Aksh bags Rs 60 crore order from BSNL

Aksh Optifiber Ltd has been offered an advanced purchase order (APO) valued at Rs 60 crore from BSNL. The order is for supplying 4600 Km of 12Fibre and 400 Km of 24Fibre cables, which has been accepted by

Aksh.

The price quoted by Aksh was Rs 1,03,500/Km for the 12Fiber and Rs 1,83,600/Km for the 24Fiber cable. The second lowest bid for 12F cable as quoted by ARM was Rs 1,40,000/Km for 6,000 Km and for 24F cable quoted by TTl was Rs 1,88,355/Km for 1000 Km. The delivery will commence henceforth and is scheduled for completion by March 31,2001.

"We have been successful in placing the indigenous industry on the global map and aim to be a key player in India's convergence scenario."

With the completion of this order, Aksh would become the largest supplier to BSNL this financial year. Currently, majority of Aksh's business is derived from DoT and amounts upto 70 percent of the total turnover of its business.
