AIT introduces health cards for its members

a proactive approach to take care of health, Association of

Information Dealers, AIT, Bengaluru, issues free health cards to its

member organizations in association with Narayana Hrudayalaya. The

services of this health card will be limited to all Narayana

Hrudayalaya diagnostic and dental centers across India.

size="3">Recently

AIT organized Health Day in association with Narayana Hrudayalaya,

where eminent doctors discussed about various health-related topics

such as Diabeties (nutrition); Oncology (Cancer and other side

effects of smoking, tobacco etc); physical fitness (lifestyle of

traders or computer related stress); heart problems (due to stress,

work culture) amongst others. Renowned heart surgeon Dr Devi Shetty

along with his team of doctors addressed the gathering.

talking to The DQ Week, Anantharam V Varayur, executive committee

member, fellowship, AIT said, “Giving free health cards was in the

idealization process initially, and after discussing with Narayana

Hrudayalaya, AIT decided to offer free health cards to all its

members. These cards can be distributed to all members and employees

of the organization. Member organizations can demonstrate to its

employees that they care for the well-being of their staff.”

further on the benefits of health cards, he added, “Today medical

charges or consultancy is expensive and these cards will provide that

facility with certain discounts. So this kind of privilege cards

gives access to experts at discounted price.”

Shreedhar, president, AIT stated, “This initiative is to spread

awareness among members as well as employees, and the basic idea is

to prompt them for check-up with these cards. These cards will

definitely prove to be beneficial.” AIT has set up certain rules

for applying. It says that any member organization with no dues to

AIT is eligible to apply. The head of the member organization can

apply, and AIT doesn't charge for the first 6 cards, and additional

card is charged at Rs 50 each. There is a 20% discount on all health

checkup packages for the card holder. In addition, 10%-15% discount

in semi-private and deluxe ward's room tariff, and free consultancy

for all dental checkups can be availed. The validity of these cards

is for 3 years, up to August 20, 2014.
