Airtel launches 4G LTE in Ludhiana

Bharti Airtel has unveiled 4G LTE for mobile and broadband customers in Ludhiana. The service was earlier launched to subscribers in Chandigarh, Mohali and Panchkula.

In February of this year, Airtel was seen setting up its 4G LTE network for mobile devices including the iPhone 5S and 5C in Bangalore.

With support for 4G LTE on all sorts of devices, users can opt to sign up to access it via dongles, Wi-Fi routers or phones/tablets. With reference to the rates, it will be Rs 999 for postpaid customers using a compatible dongle, router or mobile and Rs 995 for prepaid handsets. The tariff plans will begin as low as Rs 100 for those on billing/postpaid accounts.

Airtel owns spectrum for Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) in the Kolkata, Maharashtra (excluding Mumbai), Punjab and Karnataka circles. Additionally, the company grabbed 49% interest in Qualcomm AP's India units which have won BWA licenses for Haryana, Delhi, Mumbai and Kerala.
