Aicsys intros 2U chassis

Aicsys just released RCK-203BE, which the company claims is the
world's first and only 2U chassis that supports System Host Board (SHB)
through 2U PICMG 1.3 butterfly backplane. The chassis was designed to answer the
demand of users for 2U solution for their SHB. Earlier, all SHB users had to use
rackmount 4U chassis to contain their systems. This kind of solution was not
only time redundant but also occupied too much space on the rack.

SHB is supported through BPE-0502P backplane. It is a 5-slot 2U
butterfly backplane with (1) PICMG ver 1.3 RC1.0 SHB slot for SHB Express and
offers expandability through (1) PCI-E 16X slot, (1) PCI-E 1X slot, and (2) PCI
32 bit 5V slots. The backplane supports both 20-pin and 24-pin power connector
for SHB with the latest CPU. With the chassis comes a standard 400W auto-switch
PFC ATX power supply with 20+4 pin power connector.

The chassis itself boasts a depth of only 450mm (17-inch), thus
providing an ideal solution for those applications where depth can make or break
a project. The RCK-203BE supports up to three drive bays: 5.25-inch CD-ROM/DVD-ROM,
3.5-inch FDD, and 'hidden' internal 3.5-inch bays. Two eight cm ball bearing
fans ensure airflow when faced with a heat sensitive application. The RCK-203BE
is the ideal solution for multi-media and 2U DVR application and also provides a
robust solution to any server application using SHB while still remaining
compact.
