Ahmedabad based tech firm steps up presence in security domain

Ahmedabad-based software products and IT services and
solutions company, Elitecore Technologies Ltd is coming out with new features to
enhance the utility of its software security product, Cyberoam. A complete
software solution for Internet and bandwidth management, Cyberoam is already
being used by more than 100 corporate for content filtering, locking unwanted
services and controlling bandwidth.

"With increasing Internet usage at the workplace,
Cyberoam plays a crucial role in providing corporate accessibility,
manageability and control. It is meant to prevent bandwidth loss, productivity
loss and limit legal liabilities of corporate. Moreover, the educational segment
has also benefited greatly from this software solution. With the help of this
tool, educational institutions can manage and control Internet usage among
students and track the usage patterns as well. We are now offering new features
to this product which will give corporate and other users greater management
control over Internet usage in order to save bandwidth cost and analyze network
usage," informed Harish Chib, VP, Marketing (Products), Elitecore
Technologies.

The new features include modules, which have been christened
Multiple Gateway with Automatic Failover and Gateway Level Antivirus. Giving
details about the features, Chib said, "Multiple Gateway module is needed
for managing multiple Internet links coming from different ISPs. It combines the
manageability of two or more links with automatic load balancing of Internet
traffic and auto fail-over in case of failure of any one link. As for Gateway
Level Antivirus, it will be useful in preventing Web and mail-based viruses from
hitting corporate networks".

Apart from corporate and educational institutions, the
Government of Gujarat has also benefited from Cyberoam. The product supports
GSWAN network and is also used by bureaucrats in their homes and offices.

Nikhil Jain, MD, Elitecore Technologies informed that
according to the estimates of IDC, the security software market in India would
grow at a CAGR of 24.1 percent over the next five years, with revenues of $ 43
million by 2007. Elitecore, which had a turnover of Rs 3.3 crore in 2002-03, is
now targeting revenue of six crore rupees in 2003-04. Besides, the company is
hopeful of netting business worth Rs 3.5 crore through its channel partners
after its successful participation in the Bangalore-based IT event, IT.COM,
2003.

"We identified 10 channel partners in Bangalore during
the event and we are confident of expanding our business, especially in southern
states like Karnataka, Kerala and Tamil Nadu," Jain added.
