Agilent ropes in Agmatel for northern region

The company aims to ramp up its indirect business with this new partnership

In an attempt to enter into government business and strengthening the indirect channels in the northern region, Agilent Technologies has roped in Delhi based Agmatel India for its test and measurement products. The company aims to ramp up its indirect business with this new partnership.

Speaking on the sideline of the appointment of Agmatel, Parmeet S Ahuja, president and country GM, Agilent Technologies told The DQ Week, "Our focus on channels started growing from last 2 years. Currently 20-25% of our business is coming through indirect channels and rest from direct channels. Having said that, we want to double our channel strength in next couple of years. With Agmatel, whose strength lies in government dealing, we will leverage its expertise at the same time expand our reach in northern region."

According to AK Aggarwal, director, Agmatel, "Before partnering with Agilent, we were distributing Tektronics. Now as per the partnership we will not be carrying any competitive brand in our portfolio. Currently, we are present in 14 locations of North India, and have 20 dedicated test and measurement partner under our fold. Moving forward, we will be scouting for partners who are capable in selling technical products and are working with research labs, technical education centers and large SI projects."

Lastly, for service support, Agilent will continue to be responsible for all the service support. The company has two calibration center in Delhi and Bengaluru. "The partnership's core objective is to create close value for the Agilent products and fulfill the need of indirect channel," said Gautam Awasthi, GM, marketing electronic measurement group, Agilent Technologies.
